Meet the Director of Alabaster - Rudy Ramirez
Rudy Ramirez directs ALABASTER by Audrey Cefaly, now presented by Shrewd as part of her record-breaking NNPN rolling world premiere.
A message from Rudy
I encountered ALABASTER in a stack of plays I received from the National New Play Network and fell in love. I'm here for any play about people trying to love each other through all the other crap that gets in the way, and this play takes some of my biggest fears and pits them against the power of seeing something beautiful in someone else and deciding to fight for it.
It's also about Southern, rural queers, a group that has traditionally treated me very well and helped me see the beauty in myself just when I was about to give up. On top of all that, it's a chance to work with not one, not two but four actresses whom I love. Can't ask for better than that.
