A message from Brian

I currently make theatre with teens for a living, and in a past life I was a fiction writer. This project connects two chapters of my life that usually don't overlap.

About Briandaniel Oglesby

Briandaniel Oglesby is a playwright from Sacramento, now living in Austin. In addition to writing plays for mature audiences, he makes theatre for teen actors by running the Skybridge Academy theatre department. He has an MFA in Playwriting from the University of Texas at Austin. His work has been developed at the JAW Festival, Playwrights' Week at the Lark, and the Kennedy Center, and locally at the Hyde Park Theatre. More on his work can be found at briandanieloglesby.com.

Taylor Flanagan plays Tay in Letters from Camp Shrewd

A message from Taylor

I never could keep a journal for longer than a couple days when I was growing up. However, when one of my friends chose to do a foreign exchange year in the Netherlands, I wrote to her religiously. I ran across copies of those letters not long ago, and I was instantly transported back in time. There is just something about reading a letter. I think that is the first thing that delighted me about this project. Until we can be safely together again, I hope these letters help to transport you.
